Memorial plaque.

Since 2025, a plaque in front of the Stadtreinigung Hamburg AöR site at Bullerdeich 19 commemorates the forced laborers who were forced to work for the company's predecessor organization during the Nazi era. The memorial plaque is an initiative of the company to ensure that historical events are not forgotten.

The Nazi forced laborers in the former company were initially French prisoners of war who cleared snow for the Hamburg population during the harsh winter of 1942. From 1943, 500 Soviet prisoners of war were added to the workforce and employed to transport rubble. From 1943 to May 1945, a total of 649 Italian military internees (IMI) were also employed in garbage collection and street cleaning.
